Olenna Tyrell was one of the grand hardasses of the Game Of Thrones universe, quick with an acidic quip but redolent of some internal goodness. Unlike other matriarchs in the world of Westeros, she had a grandmotherly quality that kept her just on the good side of things, or at least “likable.” Perhaps it’s why her simpering death scene, in which she gloated over orchestrating the murder of Joffrey to his father, read as so wonderfully vicious. “Tell Cersei,” she said in her final moments. “I want her to know it was me.”
You know who else is a seemingly aloof hardass actually full of love to a devoted few? All cats. All cats are Olenna Tyrell. Especially if they’ve got some shit on their head.
