In the movies, no one ever kills anyone when they have the chance

There are few action film dialogue clichés as well worn as “I should have killed you when I had the chance!” and its few variations. It’s usually an accurate assessment of the situation, but there wouldn’t be much of a film if main characters coolly offed each other at their first opportunity. And technically speaking, these movies generally do climax with protagonists killing villains when they get the chance, even if it wasn’t their first shot at it. Hollywood believes in second chances! Either way, here’s Jukka-Pekka Bohm’s supercut of dozens of films (and one somewhat bafflingly included video game) in which characters not only didn’t kill people when they had the chance, but couldn’t resist saying so.
