After almost two decades off the air, Mystery Science Theater 3000—coming off of one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns in the crowdfunding platform’s history—will be making it way back to Netflix later this year. But when MST3K comes back, it won’t just be on screens: Dark Horse has announced that it’ll soon be publishing a Mystery Science Theater comic book as well.
Details on the comic are pretty much nil, beyond the fact that it’s one of several ”licensed consumer products” we’re likely to see out of the series this year. Will Jonah Ray’s new host appear alongside Crow and Servo? Will Joel and Mike show up? Will the comic see the Bots riff on other, crappier comic books? (Fingers crossed on that last one.) We’ve got no way of knowing, but at least it’s exciting to be living in a world where more MST3K content is on its way.
