Indie DVDs struggling

Sales of DVDs, those great enablers of film geekery, have begun to level off, and this New York Times story finds that it's affecting exactly the kind of obscure, unsung films that DVDs have helped wider audiences discover. Ostensibly, independent films get a boost from programs like Target's IFC selection, but that hasn't done much for smaller, more specialized companies, who are struggling to find other solutions to sell DVDs that major chains won't carry.
