The world at large has not yet become the smog- and steam-filled techno dystopia presaged in Blade Runner, Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi masterpiece, but parts of it certainly fit the bill. Instagram account Blade Runner Reality looks at the world through the film’s sci-fi neo-noir lens, seeing just how much of our present day looks like the (now near-future) Los Angeles of 2019 (minus the flying cars and Replicants) with varying degrees of success. The best images, however, are quite striking; all you need now is a little Vangelis in the headphones to complete the experience.
