Interactive website lets you mess around with Bob Dylan’s “Like A Rolling Stone”
Bob Dylan has a big box set out today titled The Cutting Edge: 1965-1966: The Bootleg Series Volume 12 that compiles a vast array of outtakes from three of his most iconic records, Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited, and Blonde On Blonde. To help promote the new collection, Dylan’s label, Sony, has created a new interactive website that allows users to create their own unique mix of the singer’s most iconic song, “Like A Rolling Stone.”
Named Studio A Revisited, the site is divided into three sections: Jam Session, Listening Session, and Singing Session. The first area, Jam Session, grants visitors the ability to get hands-on with four different unreleased “stems” of “Like A Rolling Stone” and mix it themselves. You can raise and lower the volume of the drums and the iconic organ, and you can even eliminate Dylan’s voice completely.
At the time of launch, only “Like A Rolling Stone” is available to play around with, but the song “One Of Us Must Know (Sooner Or Later)” from Blonde On Blonde is billed as “coming soon.” Additionally, on the singing section of the site, a feature that would test users on their knowledge of Dylan’s lyrics is still under construction.
