Interpol bassist and resident fashionista Carlos Dengler (a.k.a. Carlos D, a.k.a. "swoop hair guy," a.k.a. "tell that guy to cut it the fuck out already") will debut his first short feature in New York on April 17. "My Friends Told Me About You" features D's talents as actor, producer, and composer. This Dengler quote from the press release bodes ill: "Making MY FRIENDS TOLD ME ABOUT YOU was a chance to explore the narrative potential of sound and spectacle. The idea was to achieve the expression of film as a composition, a tone poem of carefully selected cinematic effects and gestures."
On the plus side, it's going to be released on the eighth volume of McSweeney's Wholpin DVD, which frequently contains some great stuff.
