A yearlong investigation by the Drug Enforcement Agency has implicated record industry executive James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond for his role in a drug-trafficking ring that allegedly used the offices of Interscope Records as a transfer point for cocaine and cash. Rosemond, who manages the rapper Game and is the CEO of Czar Entertainment, was indicted on 18 felony charges this week in connection with pickups and deliveries of hundreds of kilograms of cooke in 2010 and '11. The indictments state that drugs were stashed inside road cases and delivered to music studios in New York for sale, and then cases filled with money were sent back to Los Angeles.
Khalil Abdullah, a Rosemond cohort who has pleaded guilty to trafficking narcotics and obstruction of justice, has reportedly made a deal with prosecutors to help with the case. Abdullah informed the DEA last year of a case containing $800,000 being shipped to L.A. from New York City. [Via Billboard]
