Irresponsible adults behave irresponsibly in the Catastrophe season 2 trailer

Catastrophe debuted early this year as a delightful surprise from writers/stars Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney, its first six episodes following an Irish woman and American man whose weeklong affair leads to a pregnancy and subsequent tumultuous relationship. Season two is following relatively quickly, and the trailer kicks off with Horgan’s character (also Sharon) and Delaney’s (also Rob) in the hospital during the birth of their child. The message “having kids doesn’t make you a grown-up” is mixed in with grown-up remarks from the two stars like, “even his penis is cute” and “you’re pumping while high?,” and the rest of the trailer features an alleged sexual assault, friend-dumping, and Rob Delaney possibly doing ab workouts in his underwear.

Suffice it to say that Sharon’s quip, “it may have been irresponsible for us to procreate,” is conveyed quite clearly, with an impressive number of clips depicting unstable adults jammed into less than a minute. The show returns to Britain’s Channel 4 on October 27, and season one is currently streaming on Amazon Instant Video.
