Dowd and Ignatiy Vishnevetsky are back at the upstairs bar at Farmhouse Tavern to talk about two movies that don’t seem to have much in common at first glance: Creed, the formulaic-but-charming Rocky sequel directed by Fruitvale Station’s Ryan Coogler, and Carol, Todd Haynes’ 1950s-set lesbian romance. But while both critics agree on the surprising merits of the former and the smarts of the latter, they can’t seem to reach a consensus on whether Carol’s love story works…
