Hope you like feeling sad, because this looks like a real wrist-slitter of a movie. Miss You Already, starring Drew Barrymore and Toni Collette, tells the story of two best friends, one of whom gets diagnosed with cancer at the same time the other finds out she’s pregnant. And as this trailer emphasizes, there’s lots of laughter: Every third shot or so is the two of them laughing together, right before cutting straight to a quivering lip and tears—or near-tears, as Collette puts up a brave front in the presence of her kids. When we first learned about this film, descriptions made it sound more like a romantic dramedy, but if the trailer is any indication, this movie is 100 percent designed to make you want to cry until your eyeballs are wrung dry and fall out of your head onto the floor, shriveled and empty. You’ve got until its November 6 release date to prepare, so maybe try to watch a few happy things before this vision-destroying deadline arrives.
