It’s Always Sunny’s Kaitlin Olson to star in new pilot for Fox
Diversifying from her usual role as the angry, drunken, perpetually shit-upon bird woman of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Kaitlin Olson is set to star in a pilot where she plays an angry, drunken woman who perpetually shits on other. Olson has been (type)cast as the lead in Fox’s The Mick, from Sunny producers John and Dave Chernin, about a “hard-drinking, foul-mouthed” woman forced to move to upper-crust Connecticut to look after her sister’s kids.
Luckily, though, her job as a new and terrible person doesn’t mean Olson will have to leave Dee Reynolds, the terrible person she’s been crafting for 11 years now on It’s Always Sunny, behind; thanks to the close connections between the productions, the two crews have set things up so that Olson can potentially star in both shows. The actress—who’ll be playing Mackenzie “Mickey” Murphy, hence the Fox show’s title—will bounce over to The Mick after Sunny finishes filming its eleventh season; hopefully, the strain of keeping track of which bitter monster she’s playing at any moment won’t bleed into her regular life, or her upcoming role in Pixar’s Finding Dory (even though hearing an adorable tortoise or shrimp scream out “I will eat your babies, bitch!” would honestly be kind of great).
