It’s anything but a fair fight in The 100’s big showdown
Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Wednesday, May 3. All times are Eastern.
Top pick
The 100 (The CW, 9 p.m.): The fight-or-die action on The CW returned after a monthlong break last week with a superb episode highlighting the intense choices leading into the final arc. This week’s “Die All, Die Merrily” looks to continue that trend: “Octavia fights in the final battle for her people’s survival, but not everyone is willing to play fair.” Also, just a hunch, but it does seem unlikely anyone is going to say, “You guys, this is a tough struggle, but it’s definitely not like The Hunger Games in any legally actionable way.”
Regular coverage
Harlots (Hulu)
The Handmaid’s Tale (Hulu)
Arrow (The CW, 8 p.m.)
Speechless (ABC, 8:30 p.m.)
Black-ish (ABC, 9:31 p.m.)
Empire (Fox, 9 p.m.)
Designated Survivor (ABC, 10 p.m.)
Archer (FXX, 10 p.m.)
Fargo (FX, 10 p.m.)
Underground (WGN, 10 p.m.)
Wild card
Cockneys Vs Zombies (Chiller, 8 p.m.): If you and your wisecracking sibling are going to lead an army of nursing-home residents in a bloody war against the undead, maybe do your best to make sure you handed out everyone’s meds first. This ridiculous but entertaining film is a nice bit of counter-programming to the intensity of The Handmaid’s Tale, which we’re loving, but God, it’s just, well, you know. A little breather now and then is much appreciated.
