Horrors Week is off and running at The A.V. Club, like a teen who’s seeing apparitions post coitus, or a teen who’s being chased by a deranged killer post coitus, or…well, you get the picture. Why, today alone we have a Best Of list that ranks the top 25 horror films of the past 15 years, instead of simply focusing on the usual high notes of the genre. There’s also an Inventory of spooky, old radio shows that remind us of just how scary it can be to sit in the dark, and some discourse on who the real monsters are in R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps series. The week’s Hear This posts are dedicated to ghostly tunes, while our Watch This feature will revisit classic horror anthology series from the big and small screens. We can’t think of a better way to get ready for Halloween, aside from fine-tuning our pop culture-inspired costumes, so dig in already!
