It’s “Take Louis CK To Work Day” for New York Mayor Bill de Blasio

Who among us hasn’t wished we could bring our favorite people to work with us? No doubt the hours would pass more quickly, were we only permitted to surround ourselves with friends, family, or maybe just someone who could take our minds off the job for a few minutes here and there. That seems to be the strategy employed by New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, who The New York Times reports is spending two days being shadowed by comedian Louis CK, in what is either the result of some “Bring A Comedian To Work Day” decree or an unspecified project of CK’s.

The comic is supposedly tailing de Blasio for 48 hours as the mayor goes about his daily routine, though he’s not sharing any details about the purpose behind his plan yet—mostly because he doesn’t know. “I don’t know what it is yet,” CK says, echoing the thoughts of many people the first time they saw an episode of Louie. “I’m just messing around with something, and we’ll see what happens.” He did clarify that it wasn’t for an upcoming episode of his FX series, however. “It’s for a possible new idea, I have no idea if it’s going to happen.”

Thus far, the activities CK has watched de Blasio attend include a state budget board meeting, time spent in the mayor’s City Hall offices, and a community policing rally. There’s no word yet on whether the comedian and the politician are considering a professional relationship, but given that Louis CK has extensive experience interpreting de Blasio’s thoughts, a “De Blasio/CK 2016” ticket has a nice ring to it.
