It’s time to take a Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 set tour with Chris Pratt
Chris Pratt will be reprising his role as Star-Lord in 2017, and based on this footage, there is nothing in the world that he’d rather be doing: In a day-brightening new video, the Parks And Recreation graduate offers viewers a guided tour of the set of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, the upcoming sequel to the massively popular Marvel film from 2014. The video is part of a promotion for Omaze, a charity that raises money for worthwhile causes by offering people the chance to win “once in a lifetime experiences that can’t be bought.” To support the Boys & Girls Club in Lake Stevens, Washington, one lucky winner will get to spend a day on the set of the Guardians sequel, and Pratt can’t wait to tell people about it.
The actor first stops by the costume department, which has an entire trashcan for “Rejected Chris Pratt Ideas.” “Yeah,” says Pratt, holding up some childish scribbles, “I design costumes, too.” It’s not long before Pratt starts making some outlandish promises to the potential winner, including an offer to punch Star-Lord himself in the face. “It’s for the kids,” he reasons. Even after working on numerous effects-heavy blockbusters, the erstwhile Johnny Karate is still pretty amazed by what blue screens can do. “What? The pyramids? Am I in Egypt now?” Pratt also seems to be on the verge of revealing the identity of his character’s father, but director James Gunn steps in at the last second to throw a wet blanket over that plan. While most of the claims Pratt makes in this video are impractical, unsafe, or potentially illegal, spending a day on a set with him still seems like a fun time.
