In the new trailer for Sex & The City, the schlocky ladyism is so thick you can cut it with a knife–then stab it repeatedly till all the puns, and botox jokes, and cliches have bled out and it stops moving. Still, co-dependancy masked as friendship has never looked so glamourous! And the film has a great message: Life is not a fairy tale (Fantasia Barrino was right!), even though this depiction of life is so fantastical and broad it should come wrapped between a gigantic, heavy set of scare quotes. So, basically, life is a Lifetime movie.
Also, Miranda completely ignored the rest of the inventory in the Costumes Of Female Archetypes Aisle. Women have many other options open to them besides "Witch" and "Sexy Kitty Cat." There's also "Madonna," "Whore," "Steel Magnolia," "Vampire," "Lady(in the streets)/Freak (in the sheets)," and, of course, "Carrie Bradshaw."
