Word leaked months ago that Madonna was going to appear as this year's Super Bowl halftime entertainment, but nobody tells the NFL when to put out a press release, so it has taken all this time for the official word to come down. But, yes, Madonna will perform, and she will use the show as a springboard for her forthcoming album and tour. Appearing with Madonna will be Cirque du Soleil, which should only increase the halftime show's appeal for the NFL's core audience.
