It's Rumor Time: Is that scamp Deadpool planning something family-friendly for Christmas?

Today, Fox announced that it was delaying the big-eyed androids of Alita: Battle Angel from December 21 to February 14, with an “untitled Deadpool movie” replacing it on the schedule. That’s crazy, of course, because Deadpool 2 just came out earlier this year and December is way too soon to have a brand new Deadpool movie, but it sounds like that wild goofball may have something predictably silly up his sleeve. According to Deadline, the hot rumor is that Fox is planning to release a special PG-13 version of Deadpool 2 on December 21, with Deadpool’s good friend Ryan Reynolds teasing some kind of Princess Bride gag with Fred Savage:

The general assumption is that the PG-13 version of Deadpool 2 will use this Fred Savage framing device to step around some of the R-rated stuff that was in the original cut, probably with Fred Savage playing himself as Deadpool threatens him in a PG-13 way. Fox hasn’t offered any input on this one way or another, but—if this is really what’s happening—hopefully the new cut will finally introduce the Merc With A Mouth to a new generation of children.
