Fans of Harry Potter nemesis Draco Malfoy are getting a very special Christmas gift from J.K. Rowling this year: a new short story that will delve deeper into the troubled mind of Harry Potter’s sort-of-evil-but-not-really Hogwarts rival. Rowling has been slowly bringing back the characters from the series as part of the members-only Pottermore website, including a peek at grown-up Harry and a glimpse into the backstory of the unpleasant Dolores Umbridge, and now she turns her attention to the Hogwarts troublemaker. Pottermore members are being promised a “festive surprise” and even “a potion or two” each day from December 12 through December 23, which will hopefully include the long-requested recipe for Dobby the house elf’s cream of mushroom soup and Luna Lovegood’s coveted mulled cider.
