Jack White is quietly recording a new solo album
It’s been a little over three years since Jack White released Lazaretto, his most recent solo album, but now he has recently revealed that he has finally been recording a follow-up—but he’s being very careful about letting anyone hear him do it. As reported by Pitchfork, White’s Third Man Records label posted a few photos this week on social media indicating that White was recently recording music in both New York and Los Angeles.
The photos don’t tell us anything beyond that, but White told The New Yorker in March that he was trying to write songs where he couldn’t “be heard by the next-door neighbor,” and that instead of “writing parts on the instruments or humming melodies,” he wanted to do all of it in his head. The album itself might not end up being so quiet, but White is being careful not to disturb anyone with the recording process at least.
