Jack White, Nine Inch Nails, lots of other people cover U2's Achtung Baby
Just in case you thought we ran out of notable albums from 20 years ago to remember in 2011, it's now time to memorialize U2's Achtung Baby. The band announced a few months ago that it will re-release Achtung as a two-disc collection, box set, and an "uber deluxe" box set on Nov. 1, which U2 teased this summer by opening concerts with several tracks from the record. In non-U2 related Achtung Baby news, British music magazine Q has assembled a star-studded cast that includes Jack White, Nine Inch Nails, The Killers, Depeche Mode, Patti Smith, Garbage, Snow Patrol, and The Fray for a CD of Achtung Baby covers. The disc will be available with the issue of Q coming out Oct. 25, though we're pretty sure it will also pop up somewhere online soon after. You can hear White's version of the album's closer "Love Is Blindness" below. [Via Spin]
