Jackass sequel dominates box office

On a wave of unexpectedly glowing reviews—and the gross-out/dangerous pranks and stunts that made the television series and first movie so popular— Jackass: Number Two dominated the weekend box office with $28.1 million in grosses. In a distant second, Jet Li's Fearless, reportedly the 42-year-old star's final traditional martial arts film, took in $10.6 million. Other newcomers were not so fortunate, including the bland WWI drama Flyboys and the moribund prestige picture All The King's Men, which was shelved for a full year before finally limping into theaters for $3.8 million take. In limited release, Michel Gondry's The Science Of Sleep enjoyed a massive $25,000 per screen average on 14 screens, keeping up the director's momentum after his Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.
