Jake and Amy head to the altar in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's farewell to Fox
Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Sunday, May 20. All times are Eastern.
Top picks
Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Fox, 8:30 p.m.): It was touch and go there for a while for B99 fans, but fortunately NBC swooped in to save the day and plucked this beloved show from the jaws of cancellation. So tonight we see what would have been the series finale, and is the show’s official farewell to Fox. Wedding episodes are always a cheerful way to wrap things up, so “Jake & Amy” focuses on the pair’s nuptials, which obviously the whole precinct will attend. LaToya Ferguson plans on dressing up and popping some champagne from home. So long, Fox. Good luck with that tired Tim Allen sitcom.
Regular coverage
Bob’s Burgers (Fox, 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.): 8th-season finale
The Simpsons (Fox, 8 p.m.): 29th-season finale
Westworld (HBO, 9 p.m.)
Billions (Showtime, 9 p.m.)
Wild card
Little Women (PBS, 8 p.m.): As PBS points out, Louisa May Alcott’s beloved classic has been entertaining kids and families since 1868. But curiously, there have been fewer adaptations of Little Women than of Pride & Prejudice, say. So Masterpiece tackles this latest version, which winds up its two-week series tonight. Familiar sisters Jo (Maya Hawke), Meg (Willa Fitzgerald), Beth (Annes Elwy), and Amy (Kathryn Newton) wait it out in New England as their father fights in the Civil War, hanging out with Laurie (Jonah Hauer-King) and tangling with the cantankerous Aunt March (Angela Lansbury).
