James Corden, Rod Stewart, and A$AP Rocky make up the weirdest singing group ever
Late night newcomer James Corden has done a pretty decent job of taking over the Late Late Show from Craig Ferguson, keeping at least a portion of the former host’s penchant for total absurdity. Some of that is reflected in Corden’s video segments, like “Carpool Karaoke,” which finds Corden ostensibly carpooling to work with some random celebrity like Mariah Carey. Corden turns the radio on, that singer’s songs “happen” to come on, and a little sing-along ensues. It’s all good fun.
That whole premise got a bit weirder on last night’s Late Late Show, when Corden aired a segment that found him carpooling with both Rod Stewart and A$AP Rocky. A totally random sing-along occurs, with the unlikely gang taking on everything from Stewart’s “The First Cut Is The Deepest” to A$AP Rocky’s “Everyday.” There’s also a bit of interviewing involved, with Stewart dishing on everything from the birds he’s shagged to the hotel rooms he’s trashed.
