James Frey and Random House to pay dupes
According to an Associated Press report reporting on information released to The New York Times, readers who purchased disgraced "memoirist" James Frey's A Million Little Pieces prior to January 26, 2006 are eligible for a full refund. (A judge must approve the settlement before it becomes official.) You'll need your receipt (because everybody keeps receipts for books they bought two years ago), a page or cover of the book and "a sworn statement that they bought the book because they believed it was a memoir." Feel free to write it in short, choppy sentences, that use random capitalization and make liberal use of the words "fuck" and "asshole."
