After sitting on its front porch and whittling the proposed shortlist of Wolverine directors for long stretches of days, Fox has ended up with a dandy walking stick they’re pointing in James Mangold’s direction, hoping he’ll take it up and get the project moseyin’ back on track again. Mangold’s previous films like 3:10 To Yuma, Walk The Line, and Knight And Day don’t necessarily hint at the radical reinvention Darren Aronofsky promised to bring to the franchise, but he at least has experience with both brooding and blowing shit up, two of the essential components of Wolverine.
