James Mercer and Isaac Brock contribute to documentary soundtrack

From Billboard: James Mercer of The Shins and Broken Bells and Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse are among the contributors to the soundtrack to 180° South, a new documentary about the Patagonia region of South America. Mercer, along with singer-songwriter Mason Jennings, accompanied director Chris Malloy—the man behind The White Stripes doc Under Great White Northern Lights—on a trip through Patagonia to help inspire the music they recorded for the film, which includes some "instrumental kind of moody, droney stuff" as well as nine songs credited to Brock's long-dormant side project, Ugly Casanova. Among Mercer's contributions is a cover of Neil Young's "Journey Through The Past." Jack Johnson and Love As Laughter also appear on the soundtrack, which was released today; below is a clip of "Lay Me Down," one of Ugly Casanova's new songs for the film.
