Jamie Chung teleports from Gotham to Fox’s untitled X-Men pilot
According to Variety, Jamie Chung has joined the cast of Matt Nix and Bryan Singer’s untitled X-Men pilot as Blink, a mutant from the comics with the ability to teleport. The Variety story adds that Chung’s character’s real name is Clarice Fong, and that she’s “sarcastic, lively, and a bit of a tomboy.” Also, her typical “exuberance” has been dampened by “a sudden and traumatic upheaval of her life,” which is presumably how she meets up with the show’s main characters, a couple of parents who go on the run when they realize their child is a mutant.
Interestingly, this isn’t Chung’s first foray into a superhero show, and it’s also not the first time we’ve seen the character Blink in live-action. Chung previously played Valerie Vale on Gotham, and Blink appeared in X-Men: Days Of Future Past. She was played by Fan Bingbing that time, but since the end of that movie shook up the X-Men universe, having her show up here doesn’t necessarily break from the canon of the movies too bad—and it’s also not the first time the same mutant character has popped up in totally different places.
