Jamie Foxx and Maggie Gyllenhaal will be in Roland Emmerich's non-exploding White House movie
Constituting the human wadding of Roland Emmerich's White House Down—the 1600 Pennsylvania-set film in which the newly mature Emmerich could wait as long as 90 minutes before blowing it up—Jamie Foxx and Maggie Gyllenhaal have been added to the cast, thus answering the question of "What kind of people would exist in a Roland Emmerich-created universe where the President is taken hostage by a 'paramilitary group' and Channing Tatum is the sole Secret Service agent who can save him?" (Besides "clearly well-defined and believable ones.") According to Variety, Gyllenhaal will play a "patriotic Secret Service agent"—as opposed to most America-hating ones—while Foxx is in talks to play the President. That the next year could see Foxx in the White House and declaring how much fun it is to kill white people will surely make for some fun discussions on conservative talk shows.
