Jamie Foxx developing new half-hour sketch comedy series

Having spent much of the last decade proving his dramatic mettle, lately Jamie Foxx seems intent on reminding people that he can still be funny: Along with his upcoming roles in Due Date and Horrible Bosses, he’s reaching even further back to his roots with the tentatively titled The Jamie Foxx Project, a forthcoming half-hour sketch-comedy series set to debut on Fox sometime this year. The former In Living Color star will lend his name (if not his face, probably) to the show to be run by The Boondocks’ Affion Crockett; it will reportedly feature up-and-coming comedians offering a “fresh take on pop culture, including spoofs of movie trailers, commercials, TV shows, and music videos,” which sounds fresh, indeed. It’s about time someone started mocking pop culture.
