Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are reuniting for Netflix’s Grace And Frankie

34 years after they co-starred in 9 To 5, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are reuniting on the small screen. The legendary comic actresses have been tapped for Netflix’s newest original series, Grace And Frankie. Fonda and Tomlin will star as longtime rivals whose husbands suddenly announce that they are in love and are getting married—to each other. Seeking empathy for their unique plight, the former enemies find themselves turning to each other for support. (Fran Drescher is probably pissed she didn’t think of this first.)

Netflix has given the single-camera sitcom a 13 episode order. Grace And Frankie was created and written by Friends co-creator Marta Kaufman along with Howard J. Morris, executive producer of Home Improvement and According To Jim. In other words: Don’t expect anything revolutionary. But if the producers know what’s good for them, they’re calling Dolly Parton for a cameo right now.
