Janeane Garofalo booked a co-starring role on one of the many scripted shows Bravo keeps trying

Janeane Garofalo has booked a role on a scripted pilot for Bravo, co-starring in the The Girlfriend’s Guide To Divorce, a new show from Buffy The Vampire Slayer alum Marti Noxon. The hourlong dramedy is based on the book series by Vicki Iovine and stars House’s Lisa Edelstein as Vicki, the best-selling author of a self-help book series who’s somehow secretly separated from her husband, but hasn’t told him. Vicki then begins to start dating in L.A., catting around with her pal Lyla, an entertainment lawyer played by Garofalo.

This is Bravo’s umpteenth foray into scripted television—an endeavor that, it should be noted, has so far resulted in none of those shows actually making it to air. The Girlfriend’s Guide To Divorce has also been through the wringer before, as Showtime previously developed the show as a potential half-hour program before kicking it to the curb.
