Janeane Garofalo joins Criminal Minds spinoff

According to an exclusive report from EW’s Michael Ausiello, Janeane Garofalo is said to be close to joining the Forest Whitaker-starring Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, the Criminal Minds spinoff where “an elite team of agents within the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit” will catch potential villains by noticing their shifty eyes or something. Garofalo will play one of those agents—which makes sense considering Garofalo recently told us that the only sorts of parts she gets offered these days are “doctor, lawyer, FBI agent, and police officer who may be gay.” She’ll likely bring the same sort of take-charge, asexual energy she contributed to her similar role on 24, while also serving as a slight consolation to fans still enraged over the recent axing of A.J. Cook. (And judging by the vehement comments on other articles, the overlap between pissed-off CM fans and people who hate Garofalo for other reasons is creating some awfully strange, equally loud bedfellows.)
