Japan denies Velvet Revolver
Sleazy stuporgroup Velvet Revolver—that unholy mash-up between former Guns 'N' Roses members and the squeezed-out juicebox that used to be Stone Temple Pilots' Scott Weiland—has been forced to cancel next week's Japanese tour after authorities denied the band members visas. Specific reasons were not given, but the band's website speculates: "The increasingly tough Japanese immigration officials are taking exception with the backgrounds of various band members, which have included arrests." (Yeah, or maybe they just finally got around to hearing that cover version of "Money.") Oh well…just more grist for the mill for Scott Weiland's autobiography, I suppose. Anybody want to bet he uses this incident to draw parallels between himself and Paul McCartney?
