Jared from Subway (cold) cut from Sharknado 3
After his house was raided in a child-pornography investigation earlier this week, Jared from Subway—who probably does have a last name, though at this point it’s a useless descriptor as he is defined solely by his relationship with the subpar sandwich shop—was dropped as the company’s spokesperson. To make matters worse for Jared from Subway, the people behind Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! also want to avoid ties to someone involved in a child-pornography investigation. (It bears repeating that charges have not been filed against Jared from Subway). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Syfy confirmed Jared from Subway has been cut from the film. It would have been his second appearance amid whirlwind shark action, having appeared in Sharknado 2: The Second One.
There are plenty of other washed-up and C-list celebrity performances and cameos in Sharknado 3 to look forward to. These include turns from human sharknado David Hasselhoff, Frankie Muniz, Holly Madison, Jerry Springer, Chris Jericho, Chris Kirkpatrick, and—in roles far more fearsome than the idea of sharks raining down in an apocalyptic hellstorm—Mark Cuban and Ann Coulter as president and vice president of the United States.
The Jared-from-Subway-free Sharknado 3 will premiere on Syfy July 22.
