Jared from Subway will also plead guilty to paying for sex with minors

In news that ought to make any decent person switch to Jimmy John’s (if they haven’t already), NPR reports that now-former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle will plead guilty to charges of paying for sex with minors. (Fogle is also pleading guilty to charges of child pornography stemming from a FBI raid on his home in July.) As part of a plea deal, Fogle will plead guilty to the child pornography charges as well as charges that he traveled across state lines and then paid to have sex with two minors.

The charges are outlined in documents filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana; according to the charges, Russell Taylor, the head of Fogle’s Jared Foundation, recorded and shared child pornography with Fogle, who knew that the videos featured minors and “made comments approving of this activity.” The documents also allege that in November 2012 and January 2013, Fogle traveled to New York City, where he paid for sex with two different 17-year-olds. According to the plea deal—which Fogle has accepted—Fogle will likely serve between five and 12 years in prison.

In other Subway-related news, a game called “Jared’s Pants” purporting to “bring your kids’ meal to life!” is somehow still available for download on the Subway website, a shocking PR misstep roughly equivalent to Jell-O offering a free app called “Bill’s Pills” offering to “make you forget your troubles.”
