Jason Alexander may get another shot at TV stardom
Now that Jason Alexander has slimmed down to a weight deemed socially acceptable by Valerie Bertinelli, CBS is all set to make him a TV star again: Variety reports that Alexander will executive produce and play the lead in an hour-long series about “a former TV star who’s down on his luck and winds up joining his ex-wife’s detective agency. Once there, the character reinvents himself as an investigator with a penchant for disguise.” So other than being sort of a live-action Duckman, it’s basically the fake TV show that Larry David pitched for Alexander in the second season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, which knowingly winked at the difficulty the cast of Seinfeld was having transferring to other TV shows, combined with The Michael Richards Show, which proved conclusively the difficulty the cast of Seinfeld was having transferring to other TV shows. Worlds collide!
