Jason Bateman producing another sitcom for NBC, this time about single people and their married friends
Jason Bateman’s production company is working with NBC on another comedy. Written by Bryan Shukoff and Kevin Chesley (The Hard Times Of RJ Berger), Two To Go will follow the last two single people in a group of friends who have all otherwise moved on to married life and parenthood. According to Deadline, these two single lame-os are “navigating life and love as they Friday night barhop, then Saturday morning moon bounce surrounded by kids — none of whom are their own.” The show is a bit unusual in the way it forgoes imitating the early success of Friends, jumping right into imitating the later, boring seasons. Bateman’s production company, Aggregate Films, also has a comedy called Wife Nanny in development at Fox and a midseason NBC series called Growing Up Fisher.
