The first trailer for Netflix series Ozark was very dark and moody, showcasing Jason Bateman getting into some bad stuff and hiding money from his family, but this new teaser cuts right to the chase with Laura Linney’s character explaining exactly what’s going on to her kids: “Your father’s laundering money for a Mexican drug cartel.” That first trailer had some Breaking Bad-esque undertones—particularly with an actor known for comedies diving into a darker role—but the drug cartel angle definitely makes the Breaking Bad similarities a bit more obvious. Still, it looks like it could be a decent amount of grim fun to see Jason Bateman do his own Walter White thing, even if he doesn’t have a cool hat.
Ozark will premiere on July 21.
