Everyone’s favorite married satirical news team is going on a (working) vacation to Key West. Deadline reports that TBS has picked up a scripted comedy pilot written by longtime The Daily Show correspondents Samantha Bee and Jason Jones. The as-yet-untitled pilot is based on the couples’ experiences with the special brand of Hell that is the family vacation, as well as what appears to be their experiences watching the Vacation movies. Jones is set to star as presumably bumbling-but-well-meaning dad Nate, who takes his wife and two young kids on an ill-omened 24-hour jaunt to Key West. If the series is successful, Jones and Bee hope to pack up the car and take the family on a different road trip each season, presumably necessitating the re-casting of their children every time.
