Jason Mantzoukas and Halle Berry join John Wick: Chapter 3
The world of John Wick is getting a bit busier and bit more famous in Chapter 3, with the movie’s Twitter account revealing a bunch of new people joining the cast of director Chad Stahelski’s next installment in the series of movies about very complicated assassins. In addition to Keanu Reeves, who is returning as John Wick himself, the third movie will also feature the turn of Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, and Lance Reddick, all of whom are probably going to turn on Wick after he broke the rules of the murderer hotel in the last movie, and they’ll all be joined by a new team of Wicksters including Asia Kate Dillon, Mark Dacascos, Anjelica Huston, Jason Mantzoukas, and Halle Berry. To make that even more exciting, most of those people are playing characters with super cool names, like Zero, The Adjudicator, The Director, and Tick Tock Man (Mantzoukas was born to play someone named Tick Tock Man).
Berry will apparently be playing someone named Sofia, which doesn’t make her sound as much like a video game boss as the other newbies, but she did share an ominous note that implies she’ll also be hunting down the assassin world’s favorite dog-owner:
John Wick: Chapter 3 will be released next May, and it will reportedly dive deeper into the series’ weird mythology—a move that generally doesn’t work out for movies like this, but nobody tells fucking the Baba Yaga what to do.
