Jason Momoa to play Will Ferrell’s hunky son in new comedy
Will Ferrell’s new comedy will actually see him mature onscreen a bit—according to The Hollywood Reporter, he’ll be playing a TV dad to Jason Momoa. A quick glance at Momoa, who’s set to make a big splash this fall as Aquaman in Justice League, reveals that he’s hardly in need of any help growing up. But the untitled comedy will see his character, who once starred in a sitcom with Ferrell’s character, have a fictional family reunion. Their success levels will be quite disparate when they do meet up, as Ferrell’s playing a washed-up actor to Momoa’s hot and in-demand TV star.
The Grinder creators Andy Mogel and Jarrad Paul are writing the movie, which is being produced by Ferrell’s Gary Sanchez company and Forgetting Sarah Marshall’s Nick Stoller. Not much else is known about the plot, like why exactly they’d want or need to meet up years after their show ended. But let’s hope things work out better for Momoa’s character than they did for Sarah Lynn.
