Based on a true story, Netflix’s new film Come Sunday follows renowned pastor Carlton Pearson, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, who questions the existence of hell, choosing not to believe in a God that would punish billions of people to eternal damnation. Those beliefs proved to be controversial for the church, making him a pariah, and putting his family and reputation at risk. Jason Segel and Lakeith Stanfield co-star as Henry, Pearson’s fellow church founder and primary business manager, and Reggie, the church’s music director and organist, respectively. In the video above, Segel and Stanfield try to figure out why Pearson’s beliefs were so controversial.
