Jay Bennett's final album due July 10 as free download
Fans of former Wilco multi-instrumentalist Jay Bennett, who died last May of a painkiller overdose, will get to hear his final solo album, Kicking At The Perfumed Air, on July 10. The album is being released as a pay-what-you-like download, with the proceeds from that day's sales going to the Jay Bennett Foundation, an organization set up by his family to support music education. Pitchfork is currently streaming two songs from the album, which follows his 2008 full-length, Whatever Happened I Apologize. A physical CD release is also being planned, proceeds of which will also benefit the Foundation.
