The late, great garage-punk tunesmith Jay Reatard is getting the documentary treatment from filmmakers Alex Hammond and Ian Markiewicz, who will unveil Better Than Something: Jay Reatard for the first time in Reatard’s hometown of Memphis April 7-10 at On Location: Memphis International Film & Music Festival. Pitchfork reports that the film will also screen at the Nashville Film Festival after that. Here’s a trailer. You can also watch what appears to be parts of the film here and here.
