Jay-Z is really into therapy these days

Like a lot of people who have been called out for infidelity on one of the biggest and most popular albums of all time, Jay-Z has begun learning about the value of going to therapy. To be fair, it doesn’t sound like he’s in therapy because of that “Becky with the good hair” stuff, but that probably wasn’t great for his mental health. This comes from Pitchfork, which says Jay-Z got on the subject of therapy in a “Footnotes” video that was all about—as Pitchfork puts it—”emotional vulnerability.”

The therapy discussion was prompted by Michael B. Jordan, who noted that there’s a stigma surrounding therapy in the black community, with Jay-Z agreeing and saying that it gets to a point where you just have to move past that and seek help. “Three of your brothers are dead and your mother used to beat you,” he says. “You need help. Someone needs to talk you through why you’re feeling these feelings.”

You’ll need a Tidal account to see the full video, but you can at least see a preview at the Pitchfork link above.
