Not long ago, we relayed an item on the ongoing hip-hop boycott of Cristal, the expensive champagne rappers loved to name-check until the drink's makers voiced their discomfort (or at least that's the way it was interpreted) with the association. Jay-Z, who officially started the boycott, may have settled upon a new champagne, and even a rap-appropriate way to mention it. It's Armand De Brignac, which shows up in a video for his "Show Me What You Got," AllHipHop.com reports. Jay-Z even name-checks Brignac's "gold bottles of the Ace of Spades," just before a dude comes by with a sleek suitcase and opens it to reveal the bottle during a sexy gambling showdown (It's at 3:18, to be precise).
Wow, maybe "gold bottles of the Ace of Spades" is a decent fill-in for "Cristaaal." If its more Frenchified real name makes it seem that Jay's getting stodgy, don't worry–he's still not above doing a little racing with Dale Earnhardt Jr. Huh? Say it with me: "Naascaaar. Yeah."
