Jay-Z to stream Monday's SXSW performance online
There's something existentially irritating about the notion of repeating the same surprise performance two years in a row. But as a flagrant fuck-you to the larger metaphysical conundrums of life, Jay-Z has announced just five days in advance that he’ll be playing a show at the South By Southwest music festival—just one year after making a surprise appearance at Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label showcase at the same event.
This year, Hov will perform for the Amex Sync Show in conjunction with American Express at 7 p.m. on March 12 at the Moody Theater. But Jay-Z, never one to settle for merely being the same size as life, will also simultaneously perform in living rooms and home offices all over the globe via YouTube and Vevo live streams, and a digital billboard on the corner of 6th St. and Red River in Austin will also show the concert as it happens. Additionally, the concert will be available to watch on-demand during the week of March 13-19. [via Spin]
