Jeanne Tripplehorn joins CBS' Criminal Minds, which is that show about criminals and their minds

After being one of several actresses brought in to make Zooey Deschanel look kind of twee and flighty on New Girl, Jeanne Tripplehorn has found a more lasting post-Big Love TV gig. She's been hired to join the eighth season of CBS' Criminal Minds, filling the void left behind by the departure of Paget Brewster that your mom told you about. According to the network, Tripplehorn will play a "profiler," as Criminal Minds is that one of its procedurals that's about profilers. Profilers who catch criminals, then put their brains in jars, we think. "Look at all these criminal minds!" Tripplehorn's character may or may not exclaim while grabbing a notepad. "I must profile them."
